One Year Ago, May 11th, 2020. We were in the middle of a global pandemic. So much uncertainty about what the future held in store… but I had an idea, a mantra, and motivation to start something to see where it would take me. On this day, one year ago, I launched stateofgratitudeusa.com and started selling apparel… and received my first sale.
As I look back, and think about the past year at a glance. It's hard to believe that a year has already gone by! I am thrilled at all the beautiful things that we have been able to achieve over the past year!
I have mentioned it over and over again, but I am going to repeat it one more time. I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I started State of Gratitude. My retail resume was about two months long, working at a shoe store in Copley Square mall in Boston, Massachusetts. I believe that perseverance coupled with intention, is a recipe that can take one a long way. We are so humbled and honored by all the support that we have experienced along the way.
Since our inception, we have been able to give out TWO (2) $500 grants to two individuals, Kevin and Jarod, organized a Gratitude Walk to help the homeless, while all remaining true to our purpose of spreading the power of living in a State of Gratitude ALWAYS.
Just a couple weeks ago, we were able to partner with a local community gathering and raise enough money to distribute a THIRD grant this month. More information on how to apply here.
We are consistent in our commitment to support local and small businesses by keeping production and manufacturing within the USA and have done so by working with boutique companies based in Austin, Texas and Miami, Florida.
This Earth Day 2021, we made another promise to reduce waste and use recycled materials for our apparel, tags, and shipping packages. We have also eliminated the further use of single-use plastics for our shipping materials.
When we started State of Gratitude, the idea was simple, to find gratitude in our own lives and to help those struggling to find stability in their sober lives. Providing athletic and streetwear that feels as good as it looks, encouraging others to promote healthy lifestyles of sound mind, body, and soul.
Today, we are proud to say that our mantra, State of Gratitude, means so much more than just that. While remaining true to mission of helping recovering addicts achieve long term sobriety. We are a brand that is responsible. A brand which represents integrity as its core and strives to be better every single day. Whether that includes using recycled materials, reducing waste by eliminating the use of plastic, or sponsoring an event such as yoga, meditation, or assisting the homeless.
Thank you for teaching us how to be better, keeping us on our feet, holding us accountable, and lastly, being your true self. We all come from different walks in life. It is important to embrace and celebrate our differences. To come together and help those struggling in their own lives. We are all on our own journey, but no one is alone.
With Gratitude,
