Over the past year, so much has changed. As we dig deeper into 2021, excitement fills me every day. Last year, my family was involved in the filming of an indie film and State of Gratitude made the final cut! Seeing State of Gratitude apparel in a movie was something that I would never have “pictured” (pun) in the beginning of this initiative!
Because of Charley is a film is about an estranged family reunited in Orlando for a surprise wedding anniversary gathering. Since the film is set in the year 2004 in Orlando, that is the year a catastrophic hurricane tore through Central Florida leaving nothing but destruction in its wake, so as a result the family will be forced to bunker down together and face these unexpected, unforeseen circumstances! Yikes!
At risk of violating my Non-Disclosure Agreement, I can’t divulge any further information. You must now go and see the movie and look for State of Gratitude!
The one funny thing about the circumstances and setting of the film of the film, is that State of Gratitude was not even a thought in 2004. I remember the events of Hurricane Charley very well, since that was one of the many, many storms I have lived through. I guess you can say that it’s a Floridian’s right of passage to go through storms every year. Spoiler Alert: If you haven’t figured it out yet, we survived Charley relatively unscathed. However, many others were not fortunate. I hope that this serves as a reminder that sometimes things, such as Natural Disasters, Pandemics, and Hardships, are out of our control and we should be grateful for the blessings of our lives every day.
Stay Grateful!
